The Sound Collector by Roger McGough

This week, 4K learnt a new poem. As you can see, we have learnt part of it chorally and the other parts we split into groups. We really enjoyed learning this poem and then comparing it to ‘The Tear Thief’ by Carol Ann Duffy. Tomorrow, we will have a go at creating our own poem named ‘Sounds of the school trip’. Check in soon!

  1. This is such a fantastic way to learn poems! I start off doing action rhymes (using basic sign language) with the pre-schoolers I look after. It’s so lovely to see this being used in schools as a way to recall and enhance language development. I can tell the children really enjoy doing this.
