Hi everyone and welcome to 4K’s first blog post of the academic year!
It has been a strange start to the term, with lots of new rules in place to keep us safe. Despite this, 4K have worked tremendously hard and have really enjoyed seeing their friends and peers, even at a distance of 2m!
During the first few days, we spent some time unpicking our new school rules logo, which asks us to:
Respect Yourself, Respect Each Other and Respect Our School
This prompted us to write some very powerful poems about respect.
This week, we have got straight into our new topic about Malala Yousafzai – a young activist from Mingora, Pakistan. We have written 3 single paragraph outlines (SPOs) discussing the differences between education under the Taliban rule and in the UK. These were incredibly influential, and therefore we did our second neat write of the term!
We also started to read our first class novel The Firework Maker’s Daughter by Philip Pullman.
It has been a great start to the term and we are excited for next week and to learn more about Malala!
See you next week for another insight into the lives of 4K!
